Hi Chris,
Yes, we moved out of the Summit dojo in 1970. Sankyu time for me. Either during his (William Scott Russell) time there or the next occupant of 6 Bank Street in Summit, there was a fire that burned everything.
On a happy note, for those of you who remember the SNL skit Cheeburger, no coke, Pepsi, the Summit diner is right around the corner. It was the restaurant visited by one of the SNL writers.
I would go there after class and get coffee and tea for Sensei Murphy and the other blackbelts. And of course I would order a ‘Cheeburger’ and a coke, only to be corrected, “No Coke, Pepsi. 😀
